Keynote Topic

The Future of Work: The Impact of Scrum on How the World Works

Over the last 25 years, Scrum has not only changed how people approach their work but also their job titles and career paths. Scrum Masters and Product Owners are now main-stay roles on recruitment websites and LinkedIn career profiles. Sprints, Daily Scrum meetings, and Retrospectives are now part of the normal what-did-you-do-at-work-today conversations. However, most careers continued to be based on an industrial, pre-Agile outlook, with promotion and value connected to managing people and scarcity of knowledge. Bonuses are paid to individuals, and reviews are determined by work managers. How do we marry these two worlds? What is the future of work? Dave will take a deep-dive into the long-term impact of Scrum. He will explore what future-looking organizations are doing to create the right environment for Scrum and Agile practices to be successful.
