Description

In Microsoft® Word 2013 Level 2 students will further build on the skills acquired in the Microsoft Word basic course.Students will learn to use styles and outlines, and how to format tables. Then they will insert SmartArt diagrams, work with shapes, and format text graphically. They will also learn how to format a document by adding sections, columns, and design elements such as watermarks and themes. In addition, they will use Track Changes and prepare documents for sharing and exporting. Finally, students will learn how to work with fields and perform a mail merge.

Intended Audience

This course is designed for users who are already proficient in the basics of Microsoft Word and need to learn more advanced features.

At Completion

Upon Successful completion of the class, students will be able to:

  • Use the Reveal Formatting task pane
  • Apply, create and modify paragraph and character styles
  • Create, organize and format a document outline
  • Format tables including changing borders and applying shading
  • Sort data in a tables, split a table and repeat a header row on multiple pages

Prerequisites

Students should be able to use Microsoft Word to create, edit, format, save, and print basic business documents containing text, tables, and graphics. Word Level 1 is the recommended prerequisite for this class.
